This post has been a long time in the making… much longer than I’d like to admit. At least a year, maybe two. Sometimes projects take a bit longer than intended for unforeseen reasons. Isn’t that pretty much the way that all home improvement rolls? I think it is. Oh well, bottom line is this room is now done!
I started with a mood board and this before pic.
The boring before:
Desk and storage. Cords are hidden in the white file boxes in the corner. ![]()
Custom, handmade no-sew roman shades. Details in this post. ![]()
Expedit storage with seagrass crates and magnetized memo boards: ![]()
Magazine holders covered with scrapbook paper: ![]()
Gallery wall detail with some of my favorite pieces. Framed fabric and a french bulldog silhouette print. ![]()
Gallery wall, chair, and a closet that was once organized and is no more. ;-) ![]()
Antique finish scroll table with orchid (that doesn’t quite fit in the pot): ![]()
New chandelier light fixture with a shade replaced an old ceiling fan. All done! ![]()

So gorgeous! I found your blog through Better After. And hey, we have a frenchie too! I'll be sticking around. :) -Rachel
So VERY cute! I've been thinking about painting an IKEA Poang chair white for quite some time....what brand did you use? Does it scrape off if it gets bumped?
I used Rustoleum and haven't had any problems with scratching.
That is one great office makeover. You have kept it simple and organised. Two thumbs up for you.
